Private Equity Landscape is an independent, personal project: an interactive map of private equity, venture capital, and family office firms, with their publicly listed open roles. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any firm shown on the map.
With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the map: pages viewed, general location (country/city level), device type, and approximate session duration. IP addresses are anonymized before being sent to Google.
Analytics only load after you accept the cookie banner, which is how consent is given for this processing. You can decline, and no analytics cookies are set. This data is kept for the retention period configured in Google Analytics (Google offers 2- or 14-month options), and may be processed by Google on servers outside the EU/EEA, subject to Google's own transfer safeguards. Google's own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
A few places on the site have a form: joining the pre-launch list (email), the "Say hello" contact form (name, message, and an optional phone number or email), and the "Suggest a firm, event, or correction" form (category, name, a link, a message, and an optional email). Submitting one of these is how you give consent for this specific processing.
Submissions are sent to a private Google Sheet via a Google Apps Script webhook, so they can be read and acted on directly — there is no separate database or CRM. They're used only to respond to you, keep you updated on launch, or review your suggestion. They are kept in that Sheet until manually deleted; there is currently no automatic deletion schedule.
One local-storage entry records your cookie-consent choice so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish visitors. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Firm names, office locations, and open-role listings shown on the map are sourced from each firm's own public website, LinkedIn page, or public filings. This data is published for informational purposes; it may be incomplete or out of date. If you're a listed firm and want a correction or removal, contact the site owner (see below).
For any personal data described above, you can ask to access, correct, or delete it, object to its processing, or request a copy in a portable format. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with Austria's data protection authority, the Datenschutzbehörde.
